Last Friday I attended a networking event at the Diamond Head Hotel in Fort Myers. The event was sponsored by the SWFL Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and by Above Board Chamber of Commerce and it was so much fun. I took my hubby along so he could meet new people and maybe also get some new clients and because I needed a good photographer (but shhhhh don’t tell him that!). It was a beautiful and windy afternoon and the evening started with a fun scavenger hunt through the hotel.
I wore my new Liz Claiborne dress and black handbag, which won by a landslide (84% of the votes). It was a lot of fun having my readers decide what I should wear and it tool all of the stress out of getting ready to an important event. I had spent the last few days home sick with a nasty cold and I still wasn’t feeling 100% but knowing all of my friends s thought I looked good in this outfit gave me so much confidence that by the time I got to my event I was feeling great and didn’t even remember my cold. I even got a few of compliments from a couple of nice gentlemen in the cabana bar next to the beach, which I am attributing to the dress and not to the fact that both gentlemen where enjoying the happy hour while watching the sunset at the beach. Seriously, my husband also thought I look great in this dress and all those compliments made coming up to total strangers, introducing myself and pulling out a business card so much easier. I am sure I made a great and lasting first impression.
I truly want to thank everyone for helping me choose the perfect outfit for this occasion. I love my Liz Claiborne dress and the fact that it was the perfect outfit for work and for drinks and hors d’oeuvres on the terrace overlooking the ocean.
