Daddy My Favorite Guy / Papá Mi Compañero Favorito is an endearing book written by Icy Smith in collaboration with her daughter Crystal Smith,.

We where excited to add Daddy My Favorite Guy / Papá Mi Compañero Favorito to our bilingual children’s book library as this is the perfect story for my husband to read to the kids at bedtime.  The book portrays a father sharing everyday moments with his children from cooking and reading together to embarking in fun adventures outdoors. This a great book for Daddies to read to their little ones that reinforces a more modern, nurturing and supportive Daddy who is not afraid to show his soft side dressing as a prince for teatime as well as being strong and protective when the occasion calls for it.

Daddy My Favorite Guy / Papá Mi Compañero Favorito is ideal for preschoolers and as your child gets older, this book will also make a good beginning reader.

This heartfelt story is told in gentle rhyming verse in both English and Spanish doing a wonderful job of conveying the special bond between this father and his children. Octavio Oliva’s warm and bright illustrations bring this sweet family story to life. Daddy My Favorite Guy / Papá Mi Compañero Favorito is the perfect gift for Father’s Day.

  1. I like the book, HALF SPOON OF RICE: A SURVIVAL STORY OF THE CAMBODIAN GENOCIDE
By Icy Smith. You don’t think of the Cambodian genocide as a childrens’ book, but we need to remember that these horrible things happened, and having our young people learn about it is a way to insure we don’t go down that path again.

  2. I like My Ducky Buddy & Grasshopper Buddy. I’m always on the lookout for bilingual books for my 2 year old daughter.I think she’d enjoy these. My hope is that she’ll learn and embrace both spanish and english.
