Olympics Rings T-Shirt Craft

DIY Olympics t-shirtIt’s time again for the Olympics!  Supporting your country (or adopted country) is fun and the Olympics are a great way to show our children that hard work and perseverance can pay off .  To get into the spirit and support team USA in the Winter Olympics ( Guatemala hasn’t participated in the Winter Olympics since the 80’s or of course we would be supporting the “home team” as well) we created these easy Olympic T-Shirts.  Did you know that the Olympic rings symbolize all the nations, from across the globe, participating in the 1912 Olympic Games and have been used for over 100 years.  You can easily recreate the Olympic rings on a T-shirt , bandana or any other fabric surface.

You’ll need

  • Fabric ( we used a T-Shirt )
  • 3 Toilet Paper Rolls
  • Fabric Paint in Yellow, Blue, Black, Red and Green
  • A disposable or washable surface for the Paint
  • A sponge
  • A letter template

Instructions
Make sure your fabric is wrinkle free and dry. Squeeze the 5 colors of the Olympic Rings onto your washable/disposable surface.Dip the ends of each toilet paper roll into the colors. Finding the center of the shirt place the black ring in the middle of the shirt and continue with the 4 other rings, turning over the toilet paper rolls to a fresh side.  After your rings are formed use your letter template to put in a supportive message or the country you are rallying behind.  Dip your sponge into the fabric paint and dab on the letter template.
