Last night was movie night at home, during movie night we get to spend a fun afternoon con toda la familia and the highlight of the night was the movie “Planes Fire & Rescue” Blu-ray™ , available November 4th on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere. After watching it I took the opportunity to talk to my kids about the real heroes we have in the world and in our lives. My papá is one of them and is a big hero to our children. For our kids abuelito is somebody they look up to already but yesterday we talked about his experience when he was a volunteer police officer in Chicago. My kids spent a good amount of time hearing al abuelo tell them about his experiences working as an officer of the law, his responsibilities and how he helped the community. Watching the movie and hearing abuelo’s stories really helped them understand how everyday people do extraordinary things at times to help and serve their communities. So this family movie time is dedicated to the men and women who dedicate their lives to others: from volunteers helping sick people in Africa to firefighters and police officers that day in and day out give everything to help protect and save lives.

Today on the blog my little guy talks about #MiHeroeFavorito “Who’s Your Hero & Why?” #ad

Now my kids have a new found respect  for the men and women who serve in the police force and as firemen and understand why their work is so important.  They are after all our real super heroes!   Both of my kids loved Planes Fire & Rescue movie. It was filled with action, it was funny and I really liked the message behind it: this movie is about being selfless and brave and about helping out and working as a team. I am sure this will become one of our favorite movies to watch on movie night.  To celebrate those everyday heroes we had a little party at home. I created some fun printable Planes Fire & Rescue cupcake toppers and cupcake wrappers which you can download HERE.
