Banana Smore’s: Creating A Summer Family Tradition with Hershey’s

This is part of a compensated campaign with MarketVision and Hershey. #VeranoHersheys
smores Hershey's Growing up in Guatemala one of my favorite summer treats where the choco bananos, chocolate covered frozen bananas, that we would eat during the hot summer months.  I’ve really gotten into grilling lately and at our last family get together with at my parent’s house the kids wanted something sweet and I thought it would be the perfect time to enjoy some s’mores.  I decided to give them a fun twist adding bananas and the combination of the delicious Hershey’s chocolate, the marshmallows and the bananas with the crunchy Honey Gram crackers was not only a total hit but also brought back so many memories of those days as a kid enjoying the choco bananos back in Guatemala.  Now every time we set up the grill my kids are asking for those banana s’mores and this is quickly becoming a new summer tradition.

I have a confession to make, until this year my kids had never tried s’mores but we are now all addicted to them and we find any excuse to fire up the grill so we can make them.  My kids love roasting the marshmallows and putting them together, I think making them is half the fun and turning this into a family activity where they are helping make this special treat is half the fun!

S’mores are not only great for family BBQs and get togethers but also the perfect dessert when you are out camping.  I’ve always loved camping. When I was younger we where always embarking in fun camping trips. We would just go to explore exciting places like the Mayan ruins in Tikal, or amazing places like Semuc Champey. We would camp in the jungle and it was so exciting and some of my best memories are of those nights sitting around the campfire, just the four of us, roasting marshmallows on a stick.

I’ve never had bananas on S’Mores, but I’ll bet they’re good. Elvis would be proud!

My family and I just made S’mores for the Fourth of July. I love the idea of adding banana to them since this is one of our favorite fruits to enjoy in any dessert.

I haven’t had any smores this year yet. I’m overdue and oh so willing to make up for lost time. 😉
