The CHEW Taping Live at Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival

I will be partnering with Disney and ABC to attend the live taping of The CHEW at Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival. However all opinons are my own.

One of our favorite shows, ABC’s Emmy Award-winning lifestyle series, “The Chew,”  will be returning to the Walt Disney World Resort this fall to broadcast five shows from the 22nd Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. “The Chew” shows will be recorded at Epcot on October 4th through the 6th against the park’s iconic Spaceship Earth backdrop. I couldn’t be more excited as my daughter Ariane and I have been invited by Disney and ABC to attend a live taping of The Chew on October 5th.

Last year we loved watching the co-hosts of The Chew on TV as they shared stories of their Disney adventures and whipped up delicious recipes and drinks. This year we can not wait to be there and watch them live as they share tasty new recipes and a bounty of festival surprises! “The Chew” will also feature segments highlighting food and beverages from “around the world” of Walt Disney World Resort and its four theme parks and Disney Springs. So don’t miss these episodes which will air on the ABC Television Network, October 9-13, 2017, at 1 p.m. EDT, 12 p.m. PDT (check your local listings).

A year ago I experienced Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival for the first time and simply fell in love with this event. Epcot is already one of my favorite parks and being able to take a tasting trip around the world as I sampled amazing dishes and tried new foods was an unforgettable experience.  I also had an opportunity to taste a few of the dishes created by The Chew’s co-hosts. This year the festival has been extended and for the first time, this culinary celebration at Epcot will run for 75-days from August 31-November 13, 2017! How amazing is that! I am really looking forward to trying new foods I’ve never had before this year and can’t wait to try The CHEW’s creations too which include Grilled Beef Skewer with Romaine, Apricots and Feta Cheese; Ricotta and Zucchini Ravioli with Rustic Tomato Sauce and Peanut Butter and White Chocolate Mousse with Caramel Drizzle all of which can be found at the  “Earth Eats Marketplace, Inspired by The Chew.”

As you all know I love to cook and cooking not only brings me joy but it has become a special activity that I share with my daughter has inherited my love for the kitchen. Cooking is an activity we enjoy doing together and it has created a very special bond between us. For years one of her biggest dreams has been attending a live taping of The CHEW, that and visiting Disneyland Paris. She looks forward to every school holiday and vacation day and even sick days just so she can watch The CHEW. On weekends we often cook recipes from one The CHEW’s cookbooks that she received as Christmas gifts and she gets so excited and feels so accomplished when she finishes cooking a dish from the show. Recently I had the opportunity to meet the amazing Carla Hall at a conference and I had a total fan moment, standing next to my daughter’s favorite chef brought tears to my eyes. I told her about my daughter and about how much she loved her show and though I can’t remember what her response was she gave me a huge smile and my heard filled with joy.

Many of you know that my 12-year-old daughter Ariane has autism. For many years she would be afraid of trying anything new for fear of failing at it. She was afraid of doing crafts at school and when I would ask her what she wanted to be when she grew up she would respond “nothing. I don’t’ want to grow up and I don’t want to work”. I always suspected she was terrified because she thought she would not be able to work and she just didn’t want to think about it. A couple of years ago that all changed as she suddenly found her love for cooking. I would like to think that I had something to do with it but I also know that her love for the kitchen really “took off” after she started watching The CHEW. She knows everything there is to know about every member of the cast and when she’s watching the show her eyes dance with happiness and she literally squeals with excitement as the hosts of The CHEW create fun dishes, tell jokes and interview celebrities while stirring a delicious sauce or creating a delectable appetizer.

Attending a live taping of The CHEW has been her dream for years. We even tried to attend a show when we were in NYC two years ago but she was too young so we ended up treating her to pizza at Mario Batali’s OTTO Enoteca Pizzeria in NYC. I’m still having a hard time believing that next week we will be there watching the co-hosts of The CHEW live at Ariane’s favorite place in the world: Walt Disney World Resort.

  1. We were at the festival last month and I saw signs for this, but missed it. What a cool thing the Chew is doing by broadcasting from there.

  3. I have always liked the show The Chew. They usually are having so much fun and laughing that it’s just fun to watch them. It would be really neat to see them in person so I’m jealous but I’m also happy for you. I can’t wait to hear more.
