Today we are celebrating that one of my all time favorite Disney movies: “The Lion King” is coming out of the vault! It’s amazing to think that it has already been 23 years since “The Lion King” was released in theaters. The Lion King was one of my favorite films as a teenager and this Disney movie holds a very special place in my heart. I shared my love for “The Lion King” with a good friend. We used to joke around that he was just like Pumba and I was just like Timon. We traveled to Walt Disney World together twice and on one of those trips he bought a Pumba and Timon for me and I still keep them. He passed away a few years later and “The Lion King”, especially the Pumba and Timon characters always bring back fond memories of him and our fun adventures at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Now that The Lion King has been released on Digital and Disney Movies Anywhere and is available on Blu-ray and DVD I can not wait to watch it again with my kids, and share this with them!
The Lion King Party Ideas
I recently shared with you what a wonderful experience it was to learn about Andreas Deja and his art at the Disney Family Museum and how I got to see the villain Scar come to live with his sketches and drawings. Now to celebrate the launch of The Lion King now on digital, DVD and Blue Ray I will share with you some wild ideas to throw a Lion King party!
Get ready for a celebration filled with party animals by creating fun lion masks, you can get instructions for this HERE. Or you can print out masks of the Lion King’s characters including Simba, Mala, Timon and Pumba HERE.
When it comes to food kids will love making these fun and healthy bug and critter snacks; a feast fit for any warthog or meerkat. Find instructions HERE.
Feel the call of the wild by decorating with a safari theme. Think leopard and zebra prints which you can use on everything from table covers to cups. Check out how easy it is to make these safari cups from Cool Mom Cool Tips.
