Baby Groot

It is time for the Guardians of the Galaxy to save us all! Or at least save us from a boring movie night. As an comic book fan I have always found the story of the Guardians quite interesting, I watched the movie on the big screen and loved it and cannot wait to have the DVD so I can enjoy it every time I want to.

Guardians of the Galaxy brings together seventies music, which reminds me of my parents when I was a little boy, and the new and amazingly incredible special effects; bringing this great story to reality.  For me this unlikely combination was done in such a great way that the movie is really entertaining and one of the most fun to watch movies I have seen in 2014 making the ideal gift this holiday season!

In anticipation for the DVD release on December 9th I headed to Walmart and bought a few fun Guardians of the Galaxy toys for the kids. They are too young for the movie but love the comics and my little girl loves Rocket Racoon and Star Lord, so I got them a mask and weapons because they love to play together, they love the gear and haven’t stopped roleplaying all day.  So much so that they have now asked Santa to bring them some of the action figures!

The Guardians of the Galaxy DVD along with the toys and music would make great holiday gifts for any kids (and even for some adults I know).  I really liked that you can find a great variety of Guardians of the Galaxy toys at Walmart.com and Walmart stores and there is everything from action figures to costumes, music and books.

To get ready for our movie night I made a fun craft inspired on one of my favorite characters in the movie: big and lovable Groot. This baby Groot craft is really easy to make and you probably have everything you need already.

Don’t forget Guardians of the Galaxy movie comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray on December 9. The DVD and Blu-Ray  include lots of great features:

  • Exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and trivia
  • PLUS a custom “cassette” laptop decal.

If you purchase Groot, Drax or Rocket Raccoon figures for Disney Infinity 2.0. From 12/7 – 12/13,  you can get a $5 Walmart gift card, the cashier should be prompted to give the Walmart gift card instantly.

You and your family can #OwnTheGalaxy.  What fun ideas you have to create your own movie night with Guardians of the Galaxy?
