Healthy Breakfast Recipe for Kids: Pumpkin Pie Milkshake

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post in partnership with Nestle, however all opinions are my own. pumpkin pie milkshake for breakfastThere are some things in life that will always bring back memories. For me those things include the Nestle products which always take me back to those school days. In Guatemala Nestle is one of those brands that my generation grew up with, from drinking leche condensada La Lechera straight from the can to adding Nesquick fresa (strawberry) to my milk.

My son Sebastian has always been very particular about what he eats. He has trouble with certain food textures which make it hard for him to eat a variety of foods. As a parent I want to make sure that he is getting the nutrients he needs for him to grow and be the active little boy that he is. So having a NIDO 1+ gives me peace of mind because I know that when he is drinking a glass of milk he is getting so much more! NIDO1+ provides him with the nutrients he needs to support healthy growth and to give him the energy to keep exploring and discovering new things.

Even though we don’t really get to experience the awesomeness of fall here in Florida this time of the year we get into a fall spirit by satisfying our pumpkin craving. Since this weekend we are getting the first taste of cooler weather with lows in the 40’s (which is just crazy for us this time of the year!) I decided to make a special breakfast pumpkin pie shake.

This is a great option for those fussy kids. What could be better than pumpkin pie for breakfast? And thanks to NIDO 1+ this milkshake packs enough protein, vitamins and minerals to fuel even the most active little one’s mornings! NIDO 1+ is an excellent substitute for regular liquid milk in recipes and a great way to incorporate NIDO® 1+ into your child’s diet. One (1) cup of prepared NIDO 1+ is equal to one (1) cup of regular liquid milk.

Tips for Parents of Picky Eaters

If you have a wanted to share some tips from NIDO’s nutritionist Emily to help parents of fussy eaters ensure that their kids are getting the nutrition they need.

  • To get your child to eat more vegetables: set the example by eating them yourself! Your kids will see you and want to follow in your footsteps
  • If your child gets full easily: provide small meals between regular meals which include small amounts of protein, starch and a fruit or vegetable to maximize snack time.
  • Things you can do if your child is a fussy eater: set a specific time for your toddler to eat. This is a good habit for the human body to feel satisfied.
