Starting school can be difficult for many kids. These ideas can help you get your child excited about a new school year. 
It’s amazing to me that summer is almost over and it’s time to prepare our kids for going back to school. Which means it’s time for buying school supplies. Ideas for getting kids excited about going back to school
Starting school is always filled with changes and this can be hard for kids. This year will be even harder as my son is starting a new school and he will be missing old friends and having to get used to a new environment. But there are some things we can do as parents to prepare our kids challenges and fun that comes along with a new school year. Here are some things you can do to get your kids excited about going back to school.
Involve them in the process
From shopping for the school supplies to making their schedule kids can help out and get involved in the preparations that come with the start of a new school year. When kids actively participate in the process this makes them feel empowered and gets them excited about the new year. I always take my son along when shopping for school supplies and let him choose his notebooks, his backpack along with most of the school supplies. If you have younger kids, you can give them two or three options and have them choose from those so that. 
Put some fun into it
From fun lunch box ideas and bright colored supplies, you can inject some fun into their school day in many easy ways. This year I’m trying to keep things interesting when it comes to food. From using fun shapes for their sandwiches and their fruit to creating interesting lunch options that go beyond the sandwich. One of my kids’ favorite school lunches is fruit kabobs with yogurt. Sometimes I will even cut the fruit into fun shapes. 
Show them how much you care
I send my son motivating and encouraging notes and quotes in his lunchbox. It reminds him that I’m thinking about him and it really motivates him. Sometimes I will just handwrite them other times I will print some fun and colorful messages and sometimes I will even add the notes to fruit or sandwich kabobs.

I think when my boys get new clothes and shoes is when the excitement comes about school. I need to get some of those tissues.
I love these ideas and I’ll keep them in mind. My kids are definitely involved–they enjoy going back to school shopping to a point. My daughter is all about picking out new clothes.
