3 Easy Ways to Support Your Kid’s School

There are many ways in which you can give back your child’s school. By getting involved and taking actions to support your child’s school you are not only helping to support important programs and improve the school grounds, but you are also teaching your children to give back to their community and get involved.

Take Advantage of Box Tops for Education

One of the easiest ways to support your child’s school is to clip Box Tops for education. The Box Tops for Education program lets you give back to your school by simply buying products that you already use. All you have to do is look for products that have Box Tops for Education on them, clip them and send them to your child’s school. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents for your school. Box Tops can provide a school with thousands of dollars in funding. A little goes a long way when lots of families get involved. Ways to support your school with BoxTops The Box Tops for Education program also makes it easy for your child to get involved by collecting the Box Tops and taking them to school. My son gets really excited about collecting box tops because he knows that he is helping his school. Ways to support your school with BoxTops We’re very excited that Nestlé® Pure Life® is now partnering with Box Tops for Education.  On my last trip to Walmart, I grabbed the Nestlé® Pure Life® 8oz. bottles with SpongeBob packaging, which not only have one of my kid’s favorite characters on them but also have Box Tops for Education. I love it when the products we love and use every week have Box Tops for Education because it makes it so much easier to give back. We always get Nestle® Pure Life® water because Nestlé® sources their water from wells or municipal supplies, then put it through a 12-step quality process. This means that it meets strict standards for bottled water. And you can be sure to enjoy the same crisp, clean taste wherever you pick up a bottle. Nestlé® also enhances their purified water with a light blend of minerals for a distinctive, refreshing taste everyone can enjoy. No wonder it’s the #1 bottled water globally.

My son is very picky about his water; he loves the taste and now that we’re buying the Nestlé® Pure Life® 8oz. bottles with SpongeBob packaging he’s even more excited to take these to school in his lunch box. Having a fun water bottle is a great incentive to get him to drink more water, which is also great!

My kids love when I pack these fun Nestlé® Pure Life® SpongeBob water bottles in their lunches, and I love being able to support their school by purchasing brands that participate in the Box Tops program.

Get Involved

Whether you volunteer or join the PTO or attend a school meeting, getting involved in your child’s school not only benefits the school but also shows your child that you’re taking an interest in their school. It doesn’t matter if your kids are younger or in high school, getting involved with your child’s school will always have a very positive impact. Now that both of my kids will be in middle school I find that it’s even more important to get involved and volunteer. A lot of parents volunteer during the elementary school years but by the time kids get to middle and high school many parents are not participating anymore and there is a greater need. Getting involved in your child’s school can give you an insight into the what’s going on in their lives, what the fads and trends are which in turn will help you understand them better.

Donate

From pencils and books to hand sanitizers and art supplies, schools are always in need of donations. The best way to find out what those needs are is to call your school or talk to your child’s teacher and ask them for a wish list. There’s a chance you may even have many of the things you need lying around at home. You can also donate money or help raise funds for individual projects and even get your kids involved in the process! When it comes to supporting your child’s school even small things like clipping Box Tops for Education can have a huge impact. So next time you’re shopping for groceries at Walmart consider picking up products like that have Box Tops for Education like the Nestlé® Pure Life® 8oz. bottles with SpongeBob packaging. 1. This makes a lot of sense to me. I think all moms should read this and try to learn a lot. I am sure kids are going to be into this too.

  2. So many great ideas. I suppose parents in US can be benefited from this. Education systems are so wildly different from country to country though.

  3. When my kids were in elementary school, the school was very active in using BoxTops. Now, my oldest is in high school and there is almost no interest on behalf of the school to do that anymore.

    These are great involvement tips!

    • High schools cannot participate in Box Tops for Education. Find a local elementary or middle school registered for the program and donate your Box Tops there. They’ll appreciate the additional help!

  4. Great suggestions! Teachers give so much to our future leaders, so it makes me happy when parents take initiative to give back. Loved this post!
