Arroz con Leche: Classic Recipe
Ingredients
½ pound of long grain rice
2 ½ cups of milk (you can use 1 ¼ cups of whole milk and 1 ¼ cups evaporated milk)
2 cups of water
1 cinnamon stick
½ cup of sugar
½ teaspoon salt
Preparation
In a heavy saucepan put the water, rice, and cinnamon stick. Cook until it has a spongy consistency, then and add the milk, sugar and salt. Cook on low heat until the liquids evaporate and it has the desired consistency.
