Growing Up Bilingual is a bilingual blog (Spanish and English) that was created to share the adventure of educating and raising bilingual and bicultural children and to create awareness about the importance of supporting languages, heritage and culture both at home and in the classroom. Growing Up Bilingual’s main purpose is to provide great content and quality information and resources to empower parents and educators and give them the tools they need for raising bilingual and bicultural children and have fun doing it.
Along with articles related to bilingual education and parenting, Growing Up Bilingual’s content also includes reviews of books and educational products, Latino recipes, Latin American traditions and insights of life as a Latino immigrant in the United States.
About Paula Bendfeldt-Diaz
Paula Bendfeldt Diaz was born in Guatemala and now lives with her family in Florida’s Gulf Coast. She is a bilingual writer and translator and has written for Spanish and English publications and blogs for over 5 years on subjects raging from parenting & disabilities to health and beauty. Some of the publications she has contributed to include SWFL Special Needs Family Magazine, Revista Bebé & Mamá, 30 Second Mom and Plaza Familia .
Paula founded and published the first parenting magazine in her native country of Guatemala which went to become the largest parenting magazine in Central America. She has worked with advertising agencies and directly with brands like Huggies, Nivea, Jhonson & Jhonson, Clarins, Abbott Laboratories, Gerber, Bimbo & Fuji on advertising campaigns and organizing events, promotions and contests.
