Both my parents owned their own businesses and both of them started those businesses from scratch. My father has an insurance brokerage company and my mom had a men’s clothing retail store. Growing up I saw them work hard but also saw how being their own boss gave them flexibility and freedom to manage their time. So I guess that for me it was always natural to become an entrepreneur. Since I graduated from college I’ve had my share of businesses from a costume made wooden furniture business and an architecture office to editing a parenting magazine and finally becoming writer and translator.
I really think that entrepreneurship is the right path for many people and that is why I believe in companies like Amway, that give you the opportunity to start your own business and become your own boss at the same time that they provide you with support and guidance.
When I had my daughter I happened to be working for someone else. My furniture business had not worked out because there was to much overhead investment and I was forced to look for a job. It was so hard to put my daughter in a daycare and not be able to be with her. So I vowed to find something I could do from home and after about a years of hard work on the side I left my job and started working for myself again. Being away from my first child for the first year and a half was the toughest thing I’ve ever had to do.
I love my job now, I love working for myself, setting my own schedule and having the flexibility to work from home, be there for my kids and travel. I work harder than ever before but I love what I do. Throughout the years I have also learned that when you are starting a new business you need to keep costs down and that having support and guidance when starting a business are very important and will improve your success. Amway does all this for you and that is why I believe that if you are thinking of finding a way to earn some extra money or have the goal to leave that 9 to 5 job in the future Amway is a great option!
