Our Story
B’alam Studio was created from a deep love for Guatemala—its landscapes, its people, and its living traditions.
We work directly with Mayan women artisans in the highlands of Guatemala to bring you handcrafted pieces rooted in heritage and care. Each item—from earrings and necklaces to headbands, ornaments, and keychains—is a reflection of ancestral knowledge passed down through generations.

What “B’alam” Means
B’alam means jaguar in the K’iche’, Kaqchikel, and Q’eqchi’ Mayan languages.
In Mayan culture, the jaguar is a sacred symbol of strength, protection, and transformation. It is believed to walk between worlds—day and night, life and spirit—and serves as a powerful protector and guide.
We chose the name B’alam to honor the wisdom and strength of the women we work with and the rich cultural heritage they carry.
