The spirit of soccer really comes to life when you experience it and share it with loved ones. Like I have said before this year the soccer championships have been really special because we have been able to share them with all three generations. We get together with my in-laws to watch the games and my 6 year old and 9 year old are really excited about watching them for the first time.
My in-laws are great but I have to admit it is not often that we all get together to enjoy something we all like and watching the games together has really brought us closer. During half time and after the games my son insists on playing soccer with us and showing off his moves and how he is so much better than all those players on the TV, he’s too funny!
I really enjoy seeing how grandpa and my husband pass on the love they have for the game (specially grandpa) on to my kids and how soccer and the soccer games have provided this great opportunity to connect, to spend more time together and to get closer.
Soccer is a great sport and it has really brought our family closer together. But the soccer games are such a huge event that they even bring strangers together! We have been traveling this past week and everywhere we go people are talking about the game, watching it together at restaurants and commenting about the plays and about the teams. On our trip we have started conversations and met new people just because of the soccer games, it’s pretty awesome!
Oreo cookies, much like soccer, bring our family together and also bring strangers together. Open a package of Oreos and offer them and immediately you will make friends anywhere you go! Because Oreo is a cookie that everyone wants to share it just makes sense that they are the official cookie of U.S soccer!
