Tyson products are staples in our home. My son’s favorite food was, until now, Tyson chicken nuggets and the Tyson Honey BBQ strips are my husband’s favorite, specially when I make my almost world famous BBQ Mole Enchiladas. We had not, however, tried the Tyson chicken fries so when I was asked to come up with an awesome dipping sauce to complement them I was thrilled. This mission was made for me!
I headed out to Sam’s Club to buy the Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries and the ingredients for the dipping sauce. Selected Sam’s Clubs are having a Tyson Chicken Fries demo, so check that out. You can check out my complete shopping trip on my Google+ Album HERE.
As always I turned to my Latino roots for inspiration. I wanted to make something healthy and fresh, perfect for snacking or for a quick meal now that the days are really starting to get hot here in Florida. Avocados, one of my favorite foods just seemed like the perfect ingredient, mixed with fresh parsley and yogurt, which gave it a smooth and creamy texture and for the “grown up” version I sprinkled some dried Chipotle which added just the right amount of heat.
Creamy Avocado Dipping Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 large ripe Hass avocados
- Juice of two limes
- 1/3 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chipotle seasoning blend
Instructions
-
Combine all ingredients except chipotle pepper in a blender.
-
Blend until smooth, about one minute.
-
Serve and sprinkle with chipotle pepper. Leave this ingredient out if you don't like spicy foods or if you are making this for the kids.
-
Can be made ahead and refrigerated.
The Tyson Chicken Fries are the perfect quick and easy meal for my family, I can just pop them in the oven an whip this delicious dipping sauce in no time and I have a meal everyone loved. This is also ideal for a snack and I know I will be preparing when we have friends over and for pot lucks with my Mom’s Club because it was such a hit with the kids and I love that the Creamy Avocado Dipping sauce is so healthy!
I don’t know if it’s a Latino thing but for some reason I think that everything tastes better if you put it in a tortilla. So while I was working late on the computer last night I prepared myself a delicious tortilla with Tyson Chicken Fries and some of that delicious Creamy Avocado Dipping Sauce that was left over from lunch.
