This skinny pumpkin spice latte milkshake is the perfect fall coffee treat. Easy to make these low calories pumpkin drinks are not just delicious but they’re the perfect way to get that caffeine pick-me up anytime of day.
During this time of the year I love to enjoy all the holiday flavors and among them one of my favorites is pumpkin and pumpkin spice. I was trilled to find a Coffee-Mate light pumpkin spice flavored coffee creamer at Walmart last week. I quickly grabbed a bottle of the Light Pumpkin Spice Coffee-Mate along with the Nescafe Classico coffee as I knew this would be a special treat to add to our morning coffee and the fact that that there is a low calorie options will make my husband very happy as he is always watching his weight. My husband and I have a little morning ritual. We love to enjoy coffee together but it’s much more than that, it’s our special time of the day together.
This year both my husband and I started working from home. At first we thought we would be spending a lot more time together but even though we are both home all day but sometimes it’s hard to find a moment to ourselves. Between taking turns to take care of the kids when they are home and trying to take advantage of the time they spend at school to get work done by the time the day ended we where exhausted and we realized that we had not spend any time together at all. We quickly realized we had to find some time to just sit together and talk. So after we put the kids on the bus and before we turn the computers back on or check our cell phone for emails we take some time to reconnect by sharing a cup of coffee together and taking that time to talk about our day, about the kids or just rejoice in each other’s company before starting our work day.
Now that the weather is getting cooler here in Florida we like to sit in the lanai indulging on a Pumpkin flavored delicious tasting coffee drink. Sometimes we will just add some Pumpkin Spice flavored Coffee Mate to our Nescafe Clásico coffee to make for a ward pumpkin spice latte and other times I will prepare something special like this pumpkin spice latte milkshake topped with whipped cream.

Skinny Pumpkin Spice Latte Milkshake
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Coffee Mate Light Pumpkin Spice Creamer
- 2 scoops of low fat vanilla ice cream
- 3 tablespoons stevia or other low calorie sweetener
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 2 tablespoons Nescafe Clásico instant coffee
- 1 cup hot water
Instructions
-
Dissolve the Nescafe Clásico in the hot water and place in the freezer until cold.
-
Combine the rest of the ingredients in a blender until smooth.
-
If the mixture is too thick, you can add a couple splashes of Light Pumpkin Spice Coffee Mate. If it is too thin, add a little more ice cream and pulse to smooth out.
-
Pour into two glasses.
Mornings are now one of my favorite times of the day and we have found that just 20 or 30 minutes spent reconnecting gets our day off to a good start and we have an easier time dealing with anything that comes up during our day because we feel connected and more like a team. But we did have a rough time for a couple of months while we got used to the new schedule and learned some useful things a long the way.
Finding Ways To Reconnect With Your Spouse
Make your relationship a priority. As parents we often leave our relationship for last, putting the kids, work and everything first and then find it hard to make time to spend with our spouse.
Schedule time together. Weather you get a sitter to go out, enjoy a date night watching a movie after the kids go to sleep or spending half an hour drinking a cup of coffee together you need to plan ahead, maybe even write it down in your calendar so you know that time is already taken.
Turn off all your devices before bedtime. At least half an hour before going to bed turn off all your devices and spend some time together. Spending that time together gives you and your spouse time to decompress, reconnect and makes room for intimacy.
Find something you can enjoy together. Weather it’s taking hikes or enrolling in a dancing class or club. You need something to talk about with each other that is not about the kids, about work or about who forgot to mow the lawn this weekend.
How do you make time for your loved one? Do you have special moments you share together?
