The Holiday season is a magical one at Walt Disney World, but the Christmas cheer doesn’t stop at the parks. The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort has a fantastic array of holiday events, programs and extraordinary holiday décor which will make for a magical Disney holiday vacation!
We stayed at the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin recently and we loved it! We really think that it’s a great option for a fantastic value and we’re loving all the holiday magic there. It’s definitely worth visiting even if you are not staying at the resort just to check out the amazing holiday decorations and merry happenings. The Swan and Dolphin even call themselves Santa’s Favorite Resort and here are some of the fun and unique holiday events, activities and decorations you can enjoy at the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort.
The Most Unique Santa Photo Opportunity
Santa, Mrs. Claus and their favorite elf, Kandy Kane, have flown to Florida looking for warmer weather and have chosen to stay at the Swan and Dolphin Resort! There they will be available to meet guests of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Santa’s vacation Tiki Hut surrounded with palm trees and flamingos and accompanied by their reindeer who are also enjoying the tropical weather! This is an extraordinary and unique holiday photo opportunity like no other and you can visit Santa and Mrs. Claus even if you are not staying at the resort.
A Florida Winter Wonderland
What could be more magical than a white Christmas in Florida? On select nights kids can join Ms Claus for the lighting of the 45-ft tall Christmas tree made of poinsettias and even enjoy regularly timed snow falls inside the lobby!
But the holiday magic doesn’t stop there. The Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin have an array of amazing holiday decorations that you can not miss. By the entrance to the Swan you will find a larger than life chocolate Santa Claus sculpture handcrafted by pastry chef Lauren Branlart. Unfortunately, this edible work of art is not available for tasting!
At night be sure to stroll along the causeway between both hotels and enjoy a spectacular display of dancing lighted palms which come alive every 10 minutes in a musical and light display.
Elf Tuck-Ins & More
On select nights during the month of December parents can request a visit from Santa’s helpers. Elves will deliver milk, cookies, a plush toy and storybook to resort rooms, read a bedtime story and tuck children into bed, in full costume. This is a premium service that comes at an additional cost. For prices and reservations, call 407-934-4206.
If your child is worried that Santa won’t be able to deliver the presents on Christmas Eve, you can get a special magic key for Santa at the resort’s concierge desk and hang it on your door for him to use.
Even if you are not staying at the Swan and Dolphin Resort be sure to carve some time during your Disney vacation to check out the amazing decorations including a giant poinsettia tree in the lobby of the Dolphin and be sure to take a photo with Santa and Mrs Claus donning their festive tropical vacation attire.
