Nestled among forest covered hills and overlooking a secluded and pristine beach, Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica lives up to its name; this is truly a luxury dream destination! Combining the ease and comfort of an all-inclusive resort with the level of service and quality you would expect from a top luxury hotel Dreams Las Mareas is the ideal vacation getaway for families or couples.

Located in one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful and secluded beaches, Playa El Jobo in Guanacaste Dreams Las Mareas features over 400 rooms, one of the most beautiful pools I’ve ever seen and lush green gardens filled with beautiful local wildlife: from monkeys and raccoons to gorgeous bright colored birds.
Here are some of the reasons why I believe Dreams Las Mareas is the perfect destination if you’re considering traveling to Costa Rica.
Enjoy Unlimited-Luxury
From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with friendly smiles. I was quickly taken to a comfortable seat where I was given a champagne glass to enjoy as I comfortably checked in.

The grounds are extensive and my suite was a bit far away so I was taken there via golf cart along beautiful tropical gardens. As I stepped into my suite I could not believe how beautiful and spacious my room was.

The spectacular suite overlooking the beach had a semi-private slice of pool just steps away from the bed. The suites on the upper floors boast a private outdoor hot tub on the balcony. The contemporary décor and the many welcoming details; from the beautiful flower art on the bed to the fresh fruit, pastries and wine waiting for me on the table really set the tone for how fantastic my entire stay would be!

My room was not only beautiful, comfortable and spacious with a living room, dining area and a desk separate from the bedroom but it also included a wide array of amenities from a refrigerator daily re-stocked with drinks and beer to luxurious toiletries. And the bathroom was huge, with large closets and a very romantic and luxurious double rain shower.

Delight Your Taste Buds With World Class Gourmet Dining Options
At Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica, guests can explore an international array of gourmet specialty restaurants where reservations are never required. You can choose from five a la carte restaurants, a buffet, a grill and a café.

My favorite restaurants for lunch where Oceana and Seaside grill, both of them overlooking the beautiful pool and offering a wide array of seafood and delicious steaks respectively.
In the afternoons I would stop at Coco Café for a refreshing and delicious gelato. For dinner, I could not get enough of the mouthwatering gourmet food at Portofino, with its elegant decor and amazing Italian menu.

And breakfast at the World Café was always varied and delicious with a buffet that included everything from an omelet station to traditional Costa Rican offerings and fresh tropical fruit.

You can also enjoy a romantic dinner in their room or suite by taking advantage of all-day in-room dining.
Because there are unlimited international and domestic top-shelf spirits you can try out all of the amazing cocktails at any of the restaurants and seven bars including a poolside bar and a swim-up bar right in the pool (my favorite!). With pool and beach wait service you can always enjoy a piña colada, margarita, mojito or any other favorite cocktail while relaxing near the water, or you can try the Dreams Las Mareas original cocktail creations every day!
Relax and get pampered
Relaxation is taken to new levels at Dreams Las Mareas and goes beyond just hanging out poolside with a book or enjoying a cocktail while watching the stunning sunset on the beach, although those are certainly amazing options.

The first day I got there, tired from traveling, I found the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset while I softly swayed in a hammock underneath the shade of the trees right on the beach.
Later I found one of my favorites spots to relax on the infinity pool overlooking the beach while I sipped on a cocktail prepared right at the pool at the Manatees bar.

But if you truly want to indulge and get pampered you can head to the Dreams Spa by Pevonia which offers a wide array of relaxing and luxurious offerings from massages and wraps to manicures and pedicures.

There are spa packages that also let you take advantage of the beautiful spa pools, hydrotherapy garden, and amenities. I really love that the Dreams Spa offers packages for children too among them strawberry facials and chocolate wraps, so you can spend some relaxing mom and daughter time at the spa!
Choose From A Wide Array Of Fun Activities For Everyone
From ocean kayaking and water aerobics to the fun Cascada waterslide there are so many activities that are included in your stay.
I met a fun group of people and played some beach volleyball, got moving to the beat of the music doing water aerobics and enjoyed a movie night outdoors.
I really like that you can also take a class and learn something new; there are Spanish lessons, dance lessons and you can even sign up for cooking and cocktail classes; there are so many options to choose from when it comes to activities for everyone in the family.
If you’re traveling with kids they will love the Explorer’s Club where they can meet other kids and enjoy lots of fun kid-centered activities while teens can hang out at the Core Zone with daily activities, games and sports and nightly entertainment.
When it comes to nighttime entertainment Dreams Las Mareas has options that range from fun shows and outdoor movies to bars and dancing!
Set Of On Exciting Adventures
There are many options when it comes to tours and adventures you can book directly at the hotel. I took a day tour to Nicaragua, since the hotel is located really close to the border of this neighboring country, and could not believe how exciting and fun this day tour was. Yes, it was a bit long but well worth every minute!

We started the day off enjoying a traditional Nicaraguan breakfast on the shores of Lake Nicaragua just after crossing the border, which was a smooth and quick process. We visited the active crater of the Masaya volcano, strolled along the streets of the colonial city of Granada (ostensibly the first European city in mainland America) and feed monkeys from a boat in Lake Nicaragua.

Another one of my favorite experiences was taking a horseback riding tour at Hacienda el Cenizaro. Here I rode along beautiful trails in a working hacienda, enjoyed breathtaking views of the ocean and even got the chance to see some pre-Columbian petroglyphs! Only 30 minutes from Dreams Las Mareas Hacienda el Cenizaro also offers ATV tours and it’s a great option if you’re looking for a fun outdoor adventure that won’t take all day.

Dreams Las Mareas makes for the ideal getaway for those looking to combine relaxation and adventure. Here you can immerse yourself in nature and forget about the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world.

It’s the perfect vacation spot for nature lovers and you will often see monkeys, beautiful birds, iguanas and other local wildlife in the resort’s sprawling tropical gardens and at the beach.

At Dreams Las Mareas you don’t have to worry about a budget, or about planning activities since almost everything is included. The amenities are wonderful, the food delicious and the options for entertainment and activities so varied. The only thing I had to worry about was what gourmet restaurant to dine at and what delicious cocktail to order next!
I have been to many hotels and all-inclusive resorts and the level of luxury, the fantastic service, the gorgeous beach and the world-class gourmet food truly sets Dreams Las Mareas apart from the rest.

I visited the resort traveling solo but I can not wait to go back with my family. If you’re headed to Costa Rica and looking for a luxury all-inclusive vacation experience like no other Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica is the perfect destination!

We just booked this resort for July. Can’t wait after seeing all your pics. Thanks for sharing. We were curious if you had to wear bug spray at the resort? How are the bugs and mosquitoes in general?
It’s the start of the dry season so there were really no bugs and it was also quite windy in Guanacaste in general so no mosquitoes at the resort. I would bring bug spray anyway but I didn’t have to wear any at the resort (only during some of the tours to the cloud forest/jungle). I was there 3 weeks ago.
Wow this is a beautiful place to visit! My husband and I definitely need a vacation and this would definitely be a top destination for us!
I have never been to Costa Rica before. This looks like something I should definitely be looking into.
