HSF Provides The Support Hispanic Families Need To Get Into College

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with Latina Mom Bloggers.  All opinions are 100% mine.

My family moved to the USA 7 years ago, my kids where both under 3 years old and leaving our country, our families and friends was a very tough decision.  My husband was born in the US but since we got married we had made Guatemala our home.  After a our children where born we realized that we wanted better opportunities for them so we packed a few bags and took a leap of faith.  I can not say that life in the United States has been easy but we have certainly come a long way since we got here with little more than our dreams and hopes for a better future.

One of our biggest concerns is making sure that we are able to provide our kids with the best education so that they have options, so that they have more opportunities for success and I could not be more excited about sharing with my readers about HSF (Hispanic Scholarship Fund).  HSF gives Hispanic parents access to the resources they need to help their children prepare, plan, and pay for college.  I am a firm believer in the importance of planning ahead and it’s never too early to start planning for college.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Hispanics account for 19% of all college students, ages 18-24, that is up from only 12% in 2008 and more than 69% of Hispanic graduates are now going directly to college after graduating high school, this is higher than the rate of the general population. This is great news but it also means that there are more parents of college bound Latino children looking for information, funding and support to send their kids to college.

When Parents play a critical role in helping their children navigate the college application process and access the resources and support needed to excel in college and beyond. By visiting HSF.net parents can to find information they need to guide their children through the application and enrollment process—and also to ensure that they have the financial resources needed to graduate.  HSF has so many wonderful resources to help families and support them with both great information as financial resources so head to the HSF website and check out their resources!
