There is nothing that feels better than building your own business, becoming your own boss and knowing that you are responsible for your own future and for building a legacy for your family. Now more than ever, you can build your own business online: weather it’s selling your own products or creating a blog, without having to invest too much money. I have found a new career in blogging and creating content online and although in the beginning I knew nothing about websites or blogging I was able to learn everything I needed to create my own blog and make money blogging.
The best part was that I was able to create my own blog myself, even with no prior knowledge simply by relying on the help of a great hosting company like HostGator. I was able to install WordPress with one click and use their website builder, with easy to use drag and drop tools.
Things To Know Before Starting A Blog
Decide what you want to accomplish with your blog. A blog can be a great way to pass the time, earn money, people about a something you are passionate about or simply share your story. Before starting a blog it’s important for you to make a conscious decision about why you want to blog and what you want to get out of blogging. This will dictate everything from the name of your blog to the design and the content.
Make sure you get your own domain name. This is super important. A domain name will not cost you much but it will truly make a difference because you will own your own space, your own real estate in the world wide web.
Learn how to make your own website. If you’re just starting out with blogging and need some extra help, I highly recommend checking out Hostinger videos on YouTube. These tutorials offer step-by-step guidance on everything from setting up your blog to mastering advanced features, helping you learn the ins and outs of website creation. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to expand your skills, Hostinger’s YouTube channel is a valuable resource to get you on the right track.
Partner with a hosting company that has your back. When choosing a good web hosting company, there are a few key factors to consider. First, ensure the hosting service offers reliable uptime, ideally 99.9% or higher, to keep your site accessible at all times. Look for affordable pricing that fits your budget, but also make sure it includes essential features like adequate storage, bandwidth, and the ability to scale as your site grows. Customer support is crucial, so choose a hosting company that provides 24/7 assistance via live chat, phone, or email, especially if you’re not tech-savvy. Additionally, make sure they offer security features like SSL certificates and regular backups to protect your website. Finally, check for user-friendly tools, such as one-click WordPress installation, that will make managing your website easier.
Consider your blog as your brand and treat it as such. Always put your best foot forward and every time you write something ask yourself if what you are writing is in line with your brand, your niche and your audience. Your audience, your readers, are your clients so it’s important to think about them first.
Blog about something that you are passionate about. You will find that blogging can become difficult, you will find yourself with writers block or having a hard time coming up with new things to write about. If you are always passionate about what you are writing and sharing it will be so much easier to create great content that really speaks to your audience and that people want to share.
Include great photography: Photography is key when you are creating content. When it came to my blog I use a combinations of high quality photographs taken by myself as well as stock photography.
Blogging is 30% creating great content and 70% marketing that content. Weather you are a DIY blogger, a foodie or parenting blogger creating great content is important but you need to get eyeballs on that content through SEO and by sharing it on social media and networking.
