This is a sponsored post. I received ViSalus products and used the Vi-Shape nutritional shake mix to create a delicious Latino inspired passion fruit piña colada popsicle recipe that is high on nutritional value and low on calories. All opinions are sincere and are my own.
Soursop is a tropical fruit common in Central and South America, the Caribbean and sub-Saharan Africa. It’s taste has been described as a combination of pineapple and strawberry with a hint of sour citrus. In Guatemala and in many other Latin American countries we know it as guanábana. As a child growing up in Guatemala I remember enjoying guanábana drinks and my favorite, guanávana ice cram and popsicles.
I was thrilled to find guanábana pulp in the frozen section of my grocery store and I have started using it a lot in the kitchen and my kids just love it!
Health Benefits of Soursop
There is much debate when it comes to soursop’s medicinal properties. Many websites site laboratory research studies that claim to have found that soursop will kill cancer cells more effectively that chemotherapy while other websites assure that these claims can not be proven. The truth is that weather soursop fights cancer cells or not it still has great health benefits.
Soursop contains abundant amounts of vitamin C with helps protect against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, eye disease, and even improves skin’s elasticity retarding and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Soursop also contains a number of other nutrients, including potassium, magnesium, thiamin, copper, niacin, folate, iron, and riboflavin. It’s high fiber content helps keep your digestive system healthy and prevents constipation.

soursop is very common in my homeland and indeed has recently prove that it is helpful in some sort of sickness too.
Sounds like a very healthy snack.
