If you’re looking for fun Thanksgiving crafts for kids, this easy turkey craft is sure to be a hit! All you need to make this Thanksgiving craft is a mini pumpkin, and some fall leaves. This pumpkin craft is perfect for preschoolers or elementary school children.
My little man is really crafty, so I’m always looking for fun craft ideas for kids. We came up with the idea of making this Thanksgiving turkey craft because we were looking for fun Thanksgiving activities for the kids.
We used some mini pumpkins we had leftover from Halloween, and some fall leaves to make these cute little pumpkin turkeys.
This is a very easy project to make with the kids. This pumpkin turkey craft would also make a nice decoration for the Thanksgiving table or a Thanksgiving party at school or home.
Thanksgiving Turkey Craft
Materials
- a small pumpkin
- brown and yellow foamy
- red felt
- fall leaves
- googly eyes
- glue gun and glue sticks
We used store-bought leaves only because we don’t really have fall leaves available here in Florida, but it would have been so much more fun to make these with real leaves.
You can also use foam pumpkins for this so that they will last longer.
Instructions
Step 1. Cut the head and the feet from the brown foamy.
Step 2. Cut the beak from the yellow foamy and put it on the head along with the googly eyes.
Step 3. Glue the back of the head to the stem of the pumpkin.
Step 4. Glue the feet to the front of the pumpkin.
Step 5. Glue the 3 or 4 leaves in the back of the pumpkin to make the tail.

Happy Thanksgiving!
For the non artist crafty person it would be wonderful to have templates of the head, beak, wattle and feet. I love the idea. I want to make the pumpkin and use it as a placecard holder. Thank you for an easy idea, I think.
Do you have pattern for head and feet?
I wouldn’t mind a template either. Thanks for sharing this cute idea!
I would be most appreciative of the templates as well. What an adorable idea!
this template would be great – [email protected]
Are templates available now?
We did this today and it was great fun! Used construction paper instead of foam and turned out great!
