Best Things To Do In Epcot For Teens And Tweens

Best tips for enjoying Epcot with teens and tweensEpcot can be a great park for older kids and teens. It has so much to offer – from unique dining experiences to interesting attractions from around the world. As my kids have grown older they have really come to appreciate and enjoy this park more and more. We keep coming back to Epcot and every time we discover something new that my kids really love so I wanted to share with you some of my favorite experiences and attractions at Epcot for teens and older kids.

Amazing Attractions

Epcot is home to some seriously cool attractions your teens will love. Part of the appeal of Epcot is the ability to take a trip around the world without leaving Orlando. During their global tour in the World Showcase, your teens can learn about each country, taste the food and check out some really cool experiences like getting a henna tattoo at the Art of Henna in the Morocco Pavilion.

There are also quite a few great educational attractions your older kids and teens might find interesting in Epcot. In the World Showcase, your family can learn more about China through the Reflections of China Circle-Vision film or take a tour through France with Impressions de France. History buffs will also love The American Adventure, which tells the story of America through an amazing Animatronics montage show.

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

Epcot also hosts a variety of seasonal events and exhibits throughout the year. In 2019, you’ll find the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, which includes art, food, and live entertainment, and the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, which features amazing garden sculptures of popular Disney characters throughout the park as well the Garden Rocks concert series with live music every night.

And during the summer, your teen can check out the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Live. This fun live music event features Star-Lord and his seven-piece alien band rocking out to some of his favorite 70s and 80s classics.

If you’re heading to Epcot before the summer of 2019, you and your teens will also have a chance to view the end of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. This Epcot classic, which closes the park each night, will end in the second half the year to welcome a new fireworks show later in the year. This amazing show takes place around Epcot’s lagoon each evening and demonstrates the Earth’s birth portrayed by fireworks, towering flames, and a beautiful soundtrack. IllumiNations will be replaced by a temporary show called Epcot Forever at the end of the summer this year before a new show begins in the Summer of 2020.

Cool Rides

Epcot as a few rides that are sure to attract thrill-seeking teens and tweens. Mission Space will take your kids on a NASA training mission with sustained G-forces and a simulated liftoff and space flight. And racing fans will love Test Track, where your teen will have the chance to design their own race car and test it on a track, complete with a high-speed test lap around the Test Track building.

For a cool experience that doesn’t force you to leave the ground, check out Soarin’. The motion simulator will take your teen on a spectacular and exciting trip around the globe, allowing them to get a birds-eye view of some of the most amazing an iconic places from climbing to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro so gliding through across Sydney Harbour.

Tasting dishes from around the world at Epcot

Great Food

Epcot’s World Showcase is home to numerous amazing restaurants. In fact, there are more than 50 restaurants throughout the park! Whether your teens love testing their taste buds with the new and different foods or would rather stick to their favorites each time they eat, there’s a dinner option for your family in Epcot.

From French macaroons to authentic tacos in older kids and teens can take their taste buds on an exciting adventure of flavors. You’ll find delicious classic Moroccan dishes, like calamari and hummus, at Spice Road, along with an amazing view of the park’s scenic waterway. Chefs de France is another great choice. It will give your teen a glimpse into Paris and give them a chance to try classic French dishes, like escargots or duck breast with cherries.

And if you’re looking for dinner and a show, Epcot has you covered. Biergarten Restaurant in Germany offers a buffet of delicious German favorites, along with live music and family-style seating. Our all-time favorite is Teppan Edo, where your chef cooks your meal right at your table turning your meal into a fun show.
