Best tips for grilling hamburgers

When it comes to grilling hamburgers one of the most important things is choosing the right meat.

  • Choose the right type of meat: The secret to amazing burgers is using great quality ground beef that has just the right amount of fat in it. 85% lean beef is ideas as it still has enough fat to make your patties flavorful yet it doesn’t have too much fat to make them to greasy. For a juicier burger, coarsely ground beef is better.
  • Start with a clean grill
  • Add some flavor: make your burger pattie more flavorful by adding herbs and spices. From chopped onion and garlic powder to paprika and seasoning mixes. For more flavorful burgers make your patties a few hours before grilling and store them in the fridge to let all of the flavors come together.
  • Hold the salt: Add the salt to your patties right before putting them on the grill. Adding salt to your patties earlier will make them dry as the salt sucks the moisture from the meat.
  • Make the perfect hamburger pattie. For the best burgers, a 3/4 inch thick pattie is best. Thinner than that and it will cook too quickly and dry out, thicker than that and it will be undercooked in the middle and charred outside.

Best tips for grilling hamburgers

  • Avoid packing your patties too densely. When mixing in the spices and making your patties don’t press them too hard or you will end up with dry and dense hamburger patties.
  • Use the right amount of heat. For the best burgers heat your grill to medium-low to medium and avoid direct flames. High heat will char your burgers on the outside.
  • Don’t press your patties. Avoid pressing your patties when you’re grilling them as this will squeeze the juice out of your meat and leave you with dry burgers.

Ingredients for mango salsa

Mango salsa is one of my favorite salsa recipes. The sweetness of the mango combined with tomato and onion and lime juice gives this salsa a really special flavor. To make it you will need:

  • mango – I prefer to use fresh mango but you can also use frozen mango chunks.
  • tomato – the best tomato for making salsa, in my opinion, are Roma tomatoes. They are firm, easy to cut, and have fewer seeds than other tomatoes. For best results remove seeds before dicing.
  • onion -I prefer red onion but you can also use yellow or sweet onion
  • fresh cilantro
